How FX Fee Finder handles activity data

We collect only the operational information needed to run the payment checker, protect the service and understand whether checks complete successfully.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Payment-check activity

When you start or complete a payment check, we record the time, whether the request was anonymous or connected to an account, the upload or manual-entry route, and a limited status or outcome. This activity record does not contain your uploaded document, extracted document text, payment amount, account number or beneficiary details.

Signups

We record the email address and person or company name supplied when an account is created, together with the signup outcome and the account and organisation identifiers when available. Authentication credentials are handled by the identity provider and are not stored in the activity tables.

Approximate request location

Our hosting provider may supply an approximate country, region or city for a request. We use that coarse information for operational oversight and display “Unknown” when it is unavailable. We do not ask for browser GPS location and do not store or show raw IP addresses in the oversight records.

Security, access and retention

  • Payment activity, including approximate location, is retained for 90 days.
  • Signup records and logs of administrator access are retained for 365 days.
  • A secret-backed identifier rotates monthly where limited abuse correlation is necessary. It is not shown in the admin interface.
  • Activity and signup oversight is restricted by server-side owner authorization, and administrator access is logged.

Your information

Do not upload real financial documents to a public demonstration. Before production use, the service operator must publish its legal identity, contact route, sub-processors and applicable data-rights process.
